Our story began on Hinge, where Deven opened with a bold message: “Let’s meet up and be a Power Couple.” While that may have seemed ambitious at the time, it turned out to be surprisingly accurate.

Their first date was originally planned for a Friday, but Isabel had just finished a big test and wanted to celebrate with friends, so she rescheduled for Saturday. Then Saturday came, and after a night of celebrating, Isabel spent the day recovering and unintentionally ignored Deven’s texts. Undeterred, Deven reached out on Sunday with a sweet message: “I think you are really amazing and I would love to take you on a date.” Thankfully, Isabel agreed.

Their first date was over pho and, by their own admission, a little awkward. Deven did, however, make sure to compliment Isabel’s glasses. By the second date, things were already falling into place. After sushi, neither of them wanted the evening to end, so they went to see Avatar: The Way of Water. They were the only people in the theater and spent the movie laughing, joking, and having the best time together.

On their third date, Deven took Isabel to the aquarium. As they stood watching the exhibits, they both pointed at the same time and exclaimed, “Look! A turtle!” It was one of those simple moments that made them realize just how naturally they connected.

Not long after, Deven introduced Isabel to his friends and officially asked her to be his girlfriend beside a slot machine—a fittingly memorable Vegas moment.

As their relationship grew, so did their life together. After a year, they moved in together and built a home filled with love, laughter, and three beloved dogs: Milo, Willie, and Dunkin. Through every season of life, they have supported one another. When Willie was battling cancer, Deven lovingly cared for him, administering eight eye drops a day and helping him through his treatments.

One trip, in particular, showed them just how strong they were as a team. They set out on a road trip to Yosemite with Milo, only to discover that he had Giardia. What followed was a memorable adventure filled with very little sleep, emergency vet visits, diarrhea in both the car and their camping tent, and another unexpected stop at a veterinary clinic in Montana. Despite the chaos, stress, and exhaustion, they never fought. Instead, they tackled every challenge together with patience, teamwork, and plenty of humor. Somewhere along that trip, Isabel realized that Deven was the man she wanted to marry.

Their adventures have taken them far beyond Yosemite. Together they have skied everywhere from Sun Valley and Deer Valley to Brian Head, Lee Canyon, and Japan. They have explored three continents side by side, creating memories and collecting stories everywhere they go.

Their families quickly became part of the story, too. Isabel brought Deven on a family Christmas vacation, where everyone immediately loved him. Isabel spent Thanksgivings with Deven’s family and fit right in from the start. Along the way, "his friends" and "her friends" became "their friends"—a wonderful mix of medical school and dental school classmates who have shared countless game nights, escape rooms, celebrations, and milestones together.

As future healthcare professionals, they have supported each other through the challenges of medical and dental school. Isabel became Deven’s trusted dentist, assisting with his wisdom tooth extraction and performing his fillings and cleanings. In return, Isabel has happily served as Deven's practice patient whenever needed. Deven has become the second Touro doctor in the family, and together they have encouraged each other through long days, difficult exams, and every step of their professional journeys.

After years of building a life together, Deven planned one final surprise. He designed a one-of-a-kind engagement ring and proposed to Isabel in front of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. with a surprise appearance from friends—a moment they will cherish forever.

By the time they say “I do,” Deven and Isabel will have been together for four wonderful years. What started with a confident Hinge message has grown into a life filled with adventure, loyalty, laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. They are incredibly grateful for the family and friends who have supported them along the way and cannot wait to begin the next chapter together.
